A Taste of Austria
We bring the Austrian wine country to New York

Autumn in Austria's legendary wine country is a closely guarded secret among veteran travelers. Thinner crowds, the rush of harvest, a bevy of world-class cultural events combine to create an unforgettable trip. But this year "A Taste of Austria" will bring the wine country to New York audiences.

More than 40 different wines from Austria's 4 wine regions will be ready for sampling. Discover unique varietals such as the Grüner Veltliner, Austria's flagship variety grown on broad riverbanks along the Danube. A special surprise might be the sophistication of Vienna's unique varietal called Gemischter Satz, a white field blend. The wines of Burgenland, which is Austria's red wine capital, might be a wonderful surprise to many red wine lovers. Probably Austria's best kept secret, are the beautiful white wines of Styria, first and foremost the Sauvignon Blanc, that entices with scents of just-ripe red currant, white pepper and lime.

At "A Taste of Austria," New York City's top Austrian chefs will pair these wines with their own delicious creations. Join us on October 19th for a true Austrian culinary extravaganza.

Part of the proceeds of the event will go to City Harvest.
