Crowdsourcing. Not a panacea, maybe, but some very cool and important things have been the result of the web-enabled trend.
Change by Us NYC, developed by the City, allows any New Yorker to create neighborhood projects, particularly green ones, find people who can provide an assist, and connect with public and non-profit programs that can fund the idea into being.
Trees, parks, community gardens, composting — those are the kind of areas in which the City is hoping to spur thought, commitment, and group action.
