At Choplet's Raku Workshop you'll make a day of it with a maximum of nine other students and you can bring up to eight pieces for the glaze-a-thon. $160.

Get your knit and purl game on at Downtown Yarns where beginners can learn the techniques to make hats on two Mondays, October 18th and 25th, $50. Follow up with mitten classes November 29th and December 6th, also $50.

Whether or not you'd file this as a craft class or not, these are some great skills for your block and for any gardens in your future: Street Tree Care at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden will teach you about soil, mulching, watering, pruning, and tree-bed gardening. Tuesday, September 21st, free but register.

A two-day workshop will have you making Pop Up Paper creations. It happens Saturday, September 25th and Sunday, September 26th, 10-4. $260.

Using fresh and dried herbs, you'll learn how to make teas, tinctures, oils and salves at the Herbal Preparations Workshop on Friday, September 29th, 6:30-8:30pm, $75.


Digital Photo Academy has a beginner photography class on Saturday, September 25th, 9am-noon, $50.


Freshen up your wardrobe with the skills you'll learn in Altered States at Brooklyn's Flirt. $125. The class is taught next on Saturday, September 24th, 11:30am-6pm.


Thai food is on the menu at the JCC's A Taste of Thailand class this Monday, 7-9:30pm, $95.


You'll learn basic jewelry techniques for working with silver in Liloveve's Intro Silversmithing class, Tuesdays from November 9th-December 14th, 6-9pm, $400.
