ART
Rembrandt's Abraham Entertaining the Angels, from a private collection, has rarely been shown publicly. You can see this small but significant work at The Frick, now through August 20.

See the work of three contemporary Dutch artists in a show titled Nieuw Amsterdam on now at Marisa Newman, 38 W. 32nd [Bway/5th] 212.274.9166.

MUSIC
Dutch and Norwegian indie band Klangstof plays Bowery Electric June 6. The name translates to 'reverb dust'.

FOOD
For all the contributions the Dutch have made to the world, food has never been high up on the list. However, the New Catch Herring from the North Sea, is, rightly, a national holiday—Vlaggetjesdag (Flag Day)—which is the annual debut of the first catch. Look for the delicious fish starting June 15 at Russ and Daughters.

DESIGN
Catch up with the latest designs curated by the Dutch home furniture and accessories company, Moooi, 36 E. 31st [Mad/Park Ave. S.] 646.396.0455.

BOOK
These Are the Names by Tommy Wieringa is a timely book about Eurasian refugees in a hostile world and, elsewhere, a police commissioner trying to understand his identity. Eventually, they intersect. Wieringa is a fine, unpigeonholeable writer.

ORGANIZATIONS
The Holland Society of New York, 122 E. 58th [Park/Lex] 212.758.1871, has an extensive collection of books and historical records of Dutch settlements, ancestry, history, and culture focused on the New Amsterdam and Hudson River settlements… The Netherland Club promotes all things Dutch, while the Netherland-America Foundation fosters 'high-impact' exchanges between the two countries.
