Fabulous Fanny's

Ben Franklin, Audrey Hepburn, John Lennon, Swifty Lazar… hard to picture any of them minus their glasses. No doubt they subscribed to the motto of our favorite small eyewear shop Fabulous Fanny's, 335 E. 9th [1st/2nd] 212.533.0637: 'if you have to wear them, make it fun.'

The store has a 1970s red-rimmed Rodenstock ($50), a 1960's Butterfly Cateye ($95), 19th century antiques, sunglasses, and plenty of cool choices under $20. You can browse the displays and rummage through drawers full of frames until you've found a psychic connection to your own iconic look. Fanny's also sells vintage clothes in a connected but separate storefront. Hours are noon-8pm daily. Happy hunting.
