Fall Preview
Part 2

The hip quotient of West 25th Street has increased from 0-60 in less than four seconds thanks to the new showroom of Tesla Motors, 511 W. 25th [10th/11th] 212.206.1204. It's there you'll find shiny new Roadsters, Tesla's electric cars that go nearly 250 miles on a single charge.

ABT amps up the interest this fall with new works by three exciting choreographers: Benjamin Millepied, Aszure Barton and ABT's Artist-in-Residence, Alexei Ratmansky. The too-brief visit takes place October 7th-10th at Avery Fisher. [Main photo: Fabrizio Ferri]

Who Shot Rock & Roll: A Photographic History, 1955 to the Present, comes to the Brooklyn Museum in late October to showcase the photographers who documented the birth and rise of rock music. [Photo: Henry Diltz]

It's not an especially promising season for new restaurants, no surprise given the general jitters. One of the few we're looking forward to is Tipsy Parson, 156 9th [20th] 212.620.4545, at which Julie Taras Wallach and Tasha Garcia Gibson, owners of the much-loved Little Giant, will delve into comfort food with southern roots. Opens later this month, if all goes well.

Even if you're Bauhaused out, or it's not your thing, the 400 or so works on display at MoMA beginning early November may remind you of its wide-ranging influence. The show will include works by Breuer, the Albers, Kandinsky (himself the subject of a major exhibit at the Gugg), Klee, Gropius and their many students.

There's no one quite like, or even remotely like, Gore Vidal, a brilliant novelist, essayist, playwright, political analyst, and sufferer of no fools. He'll be at the 92Y in October and you're not likely to hear more interesting talk in many a moon. Vidal fans should also check out the Gore Vidal Pages, put together by Scott Isebrand.
