Great news from the Supreme Court!
New York will soon be a more rootin' tootin' town, thanks to the 5-4 ruling on the Second Amendment last Thursday.
Justice Scalia wrote, "The court's opinion should not be taken to cast doubt on long-standing prohibitions on the possession of firearms by felons and the mentally ill, or laws forbidding the carrying of firearms in sensitive places such as schools and government buildings, or laws imposing conditions and qualifications on the commercial sale of arms."
Hot dang for the rest of us, in all those non-sensitive places. We're happy to see you and that's a gun in our pocket!
It will be irresistible.
Hermès will begin work on a bag called the Glocken, which will have a special compartment designed to hold the Glock 36. The bag will be made out of an alligator shot with the G36, firearm included with purchase. Estimated price: $12,500.
In High Line land, developers of 100 11th Avenue, the forthcoming condo designed by Jean Nouvel, will announce plans for a new amenity in addition to the swimming pool, restaurant, and atrium: a shooting range for residents.
Other area condos will follow suit and the Sunday Styles section will soon dub the area The Heatpacking District.
On 2nd Avenue and 89th, Shotz, an outpost of the nationwide chain that combines Jello and handgun shots, will open after Labor Day. Wednesday nights will be Ladies Night.
And Representative Jerrold Nadler will introduce legislation that would allow New York City residents to pistol whip tourists who are blocking, or walking too slowly on, city sidewalks.
Stay tuned for more gun fun!
