|Breakout Asian American Designers
A showcase of the city's up-and-coming Asian American designers (with screened profiles of each designer, installations, live performances, video, and photography) takes place February 4th, 6:30pm-9:00pm at the Asia Society, 725 Park [70th] 212.517.2742, $15.
A retrospective of the highly regarded fashion photographer and illustrator, Rico Puhlmann (1934-1996), will be at the Museum at FIT, 7th and 27th 212.217.5800, from February 8th through April 9th. Mr. Puhlmann was Harper Bazaar's key photographer for 20 years and this exhibit will features his work from it and elsewhere, including photos, drawings, sketches, and films. On February 15th, William Ewing, the curator of the retrospective and the author of the accompanying book, will give a talk at FIT from 6:30-7:30pm. It's $15, more info here.
Manhattan Vintage Clothing Show
Over 75 dealers will be selling vintage clothing and antique textiles on January 28th (1-8) and 29th (11-6) at the Metropolitan Pavilion, 125 W. 18th [6th/7th], admission is $20.
