DUMBO's Modern Anthology, 68 Jay [Water/Front] 718.522.3020, has great stuff from floor to ceiling. Anglophiles will love the British route signs ($145-$195, browse in 'home accessories') that can help separate your Maple Cross from your Turps Corner.

The Jasper Morrison Alarm Clock seems to call out for the round Kartell Componibili, designed by Anna Castelli Ferrieri, to complete the scene. At Moss, $125.

The campaign to help save St. Mark's Bookshop has yielded results: Cooper Union has agreed to meet with the store's owners to discuss terms of the lease. The same people who organized the petition, the Cooper Square Committee, are encouraging New Yorkers to take an additional step: buy one book from St. Mark's. We just bought ours.

From prodigiously talented Mary Meyer, whose clothes are handmade in Brooklyn, this Cream Lightning Bolt Jacket, $128.56. The store's at Bogart [Harrison] 718.386.6279.

Mollydooker Two Left Feet, a Shiraz, Cabernet, Merlot blend from Australia, is a guaranteed crowd pleaser. Its alcohol content is not something we approve of normally—ridiculously high at 16%—and, at $23.99, not a daily quaff, but this is the wine we'll be drinking when the autumn chill turns mean. At KD Wine, 1366 Mad [95th/96th] 212.289.1818.

When you need cool, unusual, or vintage eyewear, a trip to Fabulous Fanny's, 335 E. 9th [1st/2nd] 212.533.0637, is the place to go.

Whatever your tastes, a visit to Other Music, 15 E. 4th [Bway/Laf] 212.477.8150, is always about discovering something new — bands such as Long Island's Twin Sister (which performs in-store on Monday, September 26th, 8pm).

Goliath, 175 E. 105th [Lex/3rd] 212.360.7683, is now carrying the Abington Hiker GoreTex Boot (Abington is a line from Timberland), a grey suede hiking boot that could actually get us to take a hike. $200

San Fran's hatmaker Goorin has a shop in Park Slope, and shortly, a new location at 337 Bleecker [W. 10th/Christopher]. The Freedy for us.

It's not entirely clear the spirit in which Drew Friedman has honored his three TV Bathing Beauties, but given our love for Aunt Bea, Lucy, and Granny Clampett, we're going to assume the signed litho, available at Desert Island, 540 Metropolitan [Union/Lorimer] Bklyn 718.388.5087, is meant to be celebratory. $20
