Making a Home: Japanese Contemporary Artists in New York
Exclusive MUG Offer:
2-for-1 admission to "Making a Home" throughout November 2007**
Japan Society presents Making a Home: Japanese Contemporary Artists in New York through January 13, 2008. As rich and diverse as the streets of New York City themselves, this breathtaking exhibition showcases nearly 80 works by 33 artists, including Yoko Ono, Ushio Shinohara, Kunie Sugiura, Yuken Teruya, and Aya Uekawa among others. Installed throughout 3 floors of Japan Society's landmark building near the U.N., Making a Home comprises a broad range of media—from painting and sculpture to video and photography—and covers diverse age groups, identities, experiences, and styles that explore the breadth and depth of contemporary Japanese art as developed, practiced, and presented in New York.
