Choreographers
Watch the work of three emerging choreographers in an evening of dance called "New Voices." It's part of the Henry Street Settlement's Breaking Lines Dance Festival at the Harry de Jur Playhouse, 466 Grand [Pitt] 212.598.0400. The performance is tomorrow night, 4/30, at 8pm. Tickets are $10.
Bartenders
Table 50, 643 Bway [Bleecker] 212.253.2560, is a former speakeasy, and this underground bar feels like it. Within: hot DJs, bartender eye candy, and a hipster scene. Unless it's over already — so hard to keep up.
Detective
A lot of mystery fans are waiting for the arrival of the new Michael Connelly book The Narrows, a Harry Bosch novel that's a sequel to The Poet. It will hit stores on Monday, but, to tide you over, you can watch an 11-minute video here with Mr. Connelly reading from, and discussing, the new book.
Actress
If you remember Diana Quick's name, it's probably because you saw her as Julia Flyte in "Brideshead Revisited." In the 20-plus years since then, Ms. Quick has become one of England's best actresses (though she's never had the international reputation she deserves). You can see her in her own translation of Simone de Beauvoir's "The Woman Destroyed" through May 16 at the 59E59 Theaters, 59 E. 59th [Park/Mad] 212.279.4200. Tickets are $30.
Designers
From 4/30-5/2, Brooklyn Designs 2004, see what some of the city's sharpest designers are up to: look for furniture, lighting, linens, rugs, and accessories. Tickets are $10. Check the website for details on location and times.
