The only thing previously missing from the authentically French brasserie Orsay, 1057 Lex [75th] 212.517.6400, was a first-rate chef. Now they've got one in former Lutèce chef, Guy Savoy protégé and vrai cutie-pie David Féau, brand-new to Orsay's kitchen. Bon appetit!

Alternate History
A perfect companion piece to Philip Roth's new book is It Happened Here, an alternate history film from 1966 wherein the Nazis win the war. Incredibly, it was directed by then-18-year-old Kevin Brownlow and his 16-year-old co-director Andrew Mollo. Available on DVD and VHS, $29.95.

Walk the Walk
Wawayanda State Park, way way anda udder sida da Hudson, is doing its level best to give Jersey a good name. See for yourself on an easy-to-moderate six mile walk this Saturday along Terrace Pond. Promised: "a magical and prehistoric aura with its purple cliffs plunging down to the deep blue waters of Terrace Pond. As we follow both rocky trail and woods roads, there are two splendid overlooks, one facing east and the other west. Lunch at the lake." Sponsored by Outdoor Bound, it's $45 (includes transportation), leaving from the Apple Bank (W. 73rd and Bway) on the UWS at 10am. Call to reserve: 212.579.4568.

"A love child of Chopin and Sarah McLachlan" according to one reviewer. Well, maybe. Decide for yourself when Vienna Teng turns up at Joe's Pub tonight for two shows at 6:30pm and 9pm, $15. 212.239.6200 for tickets.
