At Barnes and Noble Union Square on Saturday, part of the New Yorker festival: Ian McEwan (Best living novelist? Discuss.) at 1pm (signing Saturday) and Ricky Gervais (The British version of The Office — funniest TV show ever? Discuss.) at 4pm signing his book for kids called Flanimals.

Art

Coffee Break
We'll be knocking back a few espressos at the Galleria illy while it's in Soho through December 15th. A shrine to the coffee producer — and rightly so — featuring art (some guys named James Rosenquist and Julian Schnabel), classes, and plenty of joe. It's at 382 W. Bway [Spring/Broome].

Gumby and Pokey celebrate their 50th anniversary — whether it's of their creation or as a couple is in the eye of the beholder — at The Museum of the Moving Image, 35th Ave [36th St.] Astoria 718.784.0077, now through January 6th. Gumby props, photos, storyboards, and consumer products.

Hismother and brother lost their trailer that Siege hadjust bought for them in the storm. Some people are organizing an online auction to help Siege buy her another trailer.
