Major Openings
A Voce, 41 Mad [26th] 212.545.8555. The much-anticipated Italian eatery of Andrew Carmellini (late of Cafe Boulud) is opening…soon.
Brasserie Ruhlmann, 45 Rock Plaza [50th] 212.974.2020, from restaurateur Jean Denoyer. No amount of money is going to make the interior genuinely Ruhlmann-worthy, but we suppose it's a worthy touchstone.
Del Posto, 85 10th [16th] 212.497.8090. The Batali/Bastianich behemoth.
Morimoto, 88 10th [15th/16th] 212.989.8883. A 12,000-square-foot one-two punch from Philly restaurateur Stephen Starr, starring Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto. Second punch: Buddakan, coming shortly.
Sascha, 55 Gansevoort [Wash/Greenwich St.] 212.989.1920. An ambitious new Meatpacking District entry from the ex-Pastis chef.
Telepan, 72 W. 69th [CPW/Col] 212.580.4300. In spite of the by-now-notorious $15.50 side of cauliflower, Mr. Telepan has made a welcome return to the neighborhood where he cut his teeth.
Tocqueville, 1 E. 15th [5th/Union Sq. W.] 212.647.1515, the enormously pleasing restaurant for grownups, moves into its new digs, a few paces to the left, later this month.
Ureña, 37 E. 28 [Park/Mad] 212.213.2328. Modern Spanish cooking from chef Alex Ureña.

Toga Time
At the Italian Culinary Center, 302 5th [31st/32nd] 212.725.8764, on March 16th, 6-8:30pm, an Ancient Roman Banquet. Artichokes of course, pork with honey, and a pine nut flan. Actually, no togas: business attire is requested. $100.

Indonesian Food
This cuisine is relatively rare in the city, so newcomer Minangasli, 86-10 Whitney Ave. [Macnish] 718.429.8207 Elmhurst, has gotten some buzz on foodie sites and a writeup in the Village Voice.
4 in Web Years
A number of longtime readers pointed out that MUG is 4 years old on the web, but, adding in our print years, we're roughly 13.
