THE AMERICAN DREAM and THE SANDBOX written and directed by Edward Albee.
March 11 thru April 19, 2008
CHERRY LANE THEATRE / 38 Commerce Street
Edward Albee is an American playwright known for works including Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, The Zoo Story, The American Dream and The Sandbox. His works are considered well-crafted and often unsympathetic examinations of the modern condition. His early pieces reflect a mastery and Americanization of the Absurdism that found its peak in works by European playwrights such as Jean Genet, Samuel Beckett, and Eugène Ionesco. He will be directing his plays at Cherry Lane Theatre. For more information, visit cherrylanetheatre.org

ARTFXXXERS the play PERFORMANCES BEGIN FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 8
DR2 THEATRE / UNION SQUARE @ 103 East 15th Street
Artfxxxers, a new play about the second generation artistic elite of Downtown Manhattan—the privileged children of the money-art scenesters of the 1980's—follows a group of hot, creative twentysomethings who are collaborating on their friend's debut showing at New York Fashion week. Using sex, status and New York City street smarts, the characters live in a world where everything is allowed and nothing is questioned… as long as it's in the name of art. Artfxxxers reveals a dramatic slice of today's Celebrity Art Scene, where the question on everyone's mind is: Are these people successful because of what they do or who they are?
