If you're bringing wine to the Thanksgiving table, and you want to splurge, you'll score big points if you show up with a Zinfandel or Cabernet Sauvignon from Franus Wines. Zins start at $18, Cabs at $32.
Peconic Bay Winery is hosting their 2nd annual Thanksgiving Barrel Tasting on November 23 from 2-6. It's $75 (in advance) for sampling their 2002 Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cab Franc from the barrel, as well as bottled samples paired with dishes from The Four Seasons and some of LI's top restaurants. David Rosengarten hosts. Proceeds go to a culinary school scholarship. More info at Peconic's list.
