The Fade in Time, his new album, takes little-known songs he learned 'while traveling the countryside among gypsy caravans' (as one does), and approaches them with fresh ears. Lee performs on July 30 at Joe's Pub.




movies It's the 12th annual BAMcinématek Animation Block Party, July 31-Aug 2, screening notable animated shorts and features. One highlight is sure to be JibJab's showcase of presidential rap battles.




theater We were convinced for a long time that Cymbeline could never make a good night at the theater—until we saw Mark Lamos' production at the Hartford Stage. Can they pull it off at Shakespeare in the Park? Well, Daniel Sullivan directs and the cast includes Lily Rabe, Hamish Linklater and Raúl Esparza and Kate Burton.

shopping Everlane and five chefs, including April Bloomfield, have designed five tote bags to raise money for Edible Schoolyard NYC, a nonprofit organization that 'works with public schools in disadvantaged areas to build organic gardens and kitchen classrooms and educate children about healthy eating.' The goal is to raise $50,000—so far, they've raised $14,335. The totes are $45.
