My Fair Lady Edition


movie Pygmalion opened in 1914, My Fair Lady opened on Broadway in 1956 and the movie version was released in October 1964. So we're celebrating (if not with mathematical precision) the 100th birthday of Shaw's play, 60 years of Wouldn't it Be Loverly?, and the 50th anniversary of the George Cukor-directed film. The latter has a shiny new restoration and plays a limited engagement at area movie theaters starting October 18.
