NYC Craft Beer Week starts today, runs through 9/25. Tons of events citywide. One of the marquee events: NYC Brewer's Choice at City Winery on 9/22. $65

They're celebrating Oktoberfest early (starting Saturday) at Loreley and Loreley Williamsburg, through 10/2. Kegs of German beer, sausages, spit-roasted suckling pig. More

October 5th, 6:30pm, at Japan Society: a look at The Birth, Death and Resurrection of Japanese Craft Brewing. Taste over 20 kinds of Japanese beer, evidence of the recent boom in artisanal brews in that country. $25

Better Than Wine: Beer and Cheese Pairings at 92Y on September 22nd, 7pm, eight favorite beers of Maggie Fuller (12% Imports), eight favorite cheeses of Martin Johnson (The Joy of Cheese). $40

Head over to Bethesda Fountain on Saturday, October 1st, 1-6, for Oktoberfest at Pullcart: Fatty Dogs, bratwurst on pretzel bread, and of course the brews. $29

Just opened beneath Chelsea Market, The Tippler, which has a tasty list of cocktails, wines, as well as craft beers on tap, in cans, and bottles. Look for special bottles such as Estrella Damm Inedit, created by Ferran Adrià.

fri-sun 11am-7pm (+ 9/22-25, last ticket pickup @ 4pm): estonian composer arvo pärt and architecture firm snøhetta create urban soundscapes around lower manhattan for the second edition of the guggenheim's stillspotting nyc. starts @ castle clinton, $10 for the self-guided tour.

tue-sat 12-8pm (thru 1/7): the museum at fit displays 100 garments and accessories from daphne guinness's personal collection. designers incl. mcqueen, lagerfeld, galliano, dior, valentino, more. 7th ave @ 27th st., free.

fri 6-8pm: gagosian gallery presents an exhibition of portraits of elizabeth taylor by andy warhol. opening reception tonight. 522 w. 21 st, free.

sat 11am-1pm: pay what you like for homer fink's hidden brooklyn heights walking tour.

sat 12-5pm: taste dumplings from around the globe (potstickers, pierogi, more) at the third annual dumpling festival. plus, a dumpling eating contest! sarah d. roosevelt park, 4 tastings for $20 (proceeds benefit the food bank for nyc).
