Calvary Cemetery
by Orestes Gonzalez
the skint

Photographer Orestes Gonzalez sent us his latest work yesterday and we knew we had to run it today. The images were taken last Sunday at Calvary Cemetery in Woodside/LIC.

Mr. Gonzalez wrote, "Greenwood Cemetery in Brooklyn gets all the love but I think we have an incredible resting place here in Queens as well. It's actually the nation's largest cemetery, with over 3 million souls interred there, some dating back to colonial times. It's smack next to the LIE, and is surrounded by dense urban activity, but on a snowy day it is incredibly peaceful."

More of Mr. Gonzalez's work here.
