Chinese New Year at Carnegie Hall
New York Choral Society & Qingdao Symphony

On January 26, 2009 at 8:00pm, in celebration of the Chinese New Year, the New York Choral Society will perform with the Qingdao Symphony, conducted by long time friend of the NYCS, Yongyan Hu, in Carnegie Hall.

The program, half Chinese and half American, will include the world premiere of an oboe concerto to be played by the brilliant 25 year-old Principal Oboist of the New York Philharmonic, Liang Wang, and Leonard Bernstein's symphonic suite from West Side Story. Gershwin's Porgy & Bess Suite is to be sung by the the New York Choral Society.
