The 3rd annual Village Voice Choice Streets Food Truck event takes place with over 20 food vendors on May 7 at the Intrepid, 7-11pm.

Italy Noble B's, Brunello di Montalcino, Barolo and Barbaresco, are featured at a tasting hosted by Zachys and wine critic James Suckling. Over 100 wines from 40+ producers, cheese and music. City Winery, May 6, 5:30-8:30pm, tickets are $99.

Back in stock at Gustiamo, the large cans of San Marzano tomatoes from Agro Nocerino-Sarnese in Campania. $6.90 for 28.2 ounces.

Pie Country is warming up the ovens for Mother's Day (May 11) and they need your order by May 3. Pies will be delivered locally along with a bunch of daffodils. Gluten-free options available, too.

fri-sat 7:30pm: the found footage festival celebrates 10 years of sharing the best/weirdest/funniest videos discovered at garage sales and thrift stores across the country with a new live show at bamcinématek (fri) and anthology film archives (sat). $15.

fri 8pm (thru 5/4): morbid anatomy and coney island usa present the eighth annual congress for curious peoples, a 10-day series of lectures and performances culminating in a two day symposium. $15 admission to tonight's opening party at sideshows by the seashore includes a lagunitas beer.

fri-sun: the third annual food book fair satisfies your gastro-lit cravings with several events that are free-$15.

sat-sun 10am-6pm: the third annual nyc green festival takes over pier 94 with 300 eco-minded businesses, speakers, vegetarian + vegan cooking demos, more. $5-10 plus ticket fees here (reg. $10-20).

sat 11:45am-5pm: 50,000 march along madison ave from 39th st to 24th st for the annual nyc sikh parade. free vegetarian food + non-alcoholic beverages for all await at madison square park.

sat 12-4pm: the fifth annual new york city chili cookoff – the only one in nyc sanctioned by the international chili society – features tastings, live music, more. historic richmond town (staten island), $10 adv, $12 door.

sun 4pm doors, 5pm show (monthly thru june): filmmaker john landis (animal house, an american werewolf in london) joins lin-manuel miranda (author of broadway's in the heights) in introducing a screening of king kong (1933) at the united palace of cultural arts. bonus: wear a tux, get free popcorn. free (donations will be accepted for the venue's new screen fundraiser).
