Japan Earthquake Relief Fund

A few ways to help.

Japan Society has created a disaster relief fund to aid victims of the Tohoku earthquake in Japan. This is something the Society has done over the years, partnering with Japanese and American nonprofits in various relief efforts. Japan Society pledges that 100% of your contribution will go to organizations that directly help victims recover from the earthquake and tsunamis that struck Japan on Friday. Donate here

Other options include:
NYC's Mayor's Fund (select the Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Fund option)

Donate at the American Red Cross website or by texting REDCROSS to 90999, which will make a $10 donation.

Check Charity Navigator's reminders about giving during a crisis. Key advice: Avoid newly-formed charities and give to an established charity that has worked in Japan.
