There's a lot of attractive jewelry out there so it doesn't happen often that we flip over a line. For M.R, we flipped.

It's a new line for women created by art furniture designer Maximilian Rainer Facklam (his work is in royal houses and the Smithsonian, among other places). And these bangles are miniature works of art.

Created from exotic and rare (though not endangered) woods, Mr. Facklam applies both his design skills and high level of craftsmanship to each. Woods are inlaid or adorned with alligator skin, shagreen, sterling silver, or pearls, but the woods are all their real, rich color. The Pink Ivory Collection features that lovely, highly prized, and infrequently seen wood from Mozambique. Many styles are one-of-a-kind or made in limited editions.

You'll be seeing these bangles when Mr. Facklam teams up with fashion designer Peter Som for an upcoming collection. Meanwhile, they're available directly from the artist's studio, and at a special rate for MUG readers. The line retails for $470-$1500; until the end of May, you can take 25% off by mentioning MUG.
