Out of Town

At London's Palace Theatre, the newly opened Priscilla, Queen of the Desert is a big hit ("insanely euphoric") – as good an excuse as any to pay a visit to the U.K.

For your bookmarks, Yapta, a newish flight and hotels price tracker. You can even track when airlines offer refunds for ticket prices that drop below what you paid. Nice.

Rock Hall, a 10,000 square foot manor house in Colebrook, Connecticut, designed by Addison Mizner (Sondheim's recent Road Show featured Mizner as a character), with grounds landscaped by Olmsted's firm, has been recently restored into a luxe bed and breakfast. Four rooms, swimming pool, tennis court, among much else. Until Memorial Day, $225-$320 a night, including full breakfast. No kids under age 12.

Back to Connecticut, this time to the Madison Beach Hotel on the Connecticut shore. Less than two hours away, you get a casual, comfortable place to stay for $159 and up, views of LI Sound, and they serve s'mores on the beach on Saturday nights!

Get some traveling in between bouts of wining, thanks to the Google mashup Wines and Times, which points you to wineries, wine festivals, and other grape-oriented events.

Of course, if wine's not your thing, you could plan a getaway to one of the state's many beautiful waterfalls. Or create a wine and waterfalls itinerary.
