BUYING A DIGITAL CAMERA
We think Digital Camera Resource Page is a good place to start if you're in the market for megapixels. Especially helpful is their buyer's guide.
Reader question: "This is becoming something of a lost art. But I'm looking for a good place to do prints of photographs from my black and white (and some color) negatives suitable to be matted and framed. I also wouldn't mind finding a place that does quality digital prints. I don't know. Kodak online sucks. Ifoto is okay but there's gotta be something better out there."
MUG: Our sources say they've gotten quite acceptable results from mpix.com with their Kodak Endura Metallic paper. They offer "true black and white digital printing," too. Good prices and shipping is solid in a flat box.
The International Center of Photography and Aperture.
For recently produced cameras, you can usually find the manual online at the manufacturer's website. But when you a buy a vintage camera, the manual is usually MIA. Camera Manual Store to the rescue. They'll get a reproduction of any one of over 4,000 manuals to you within two days. Generally, $10-$30.
THE NEW FRONTIER
