Sustainable Seafood Week
Every Person in New York

This is where you should have dinner tonight:

At the Sustainable Seafood Shindig, the kickoff for the second annual Sustainable Seafood Week, at Riverpark, where Sisha Ortúzar and Tom Colicchio host chefs preparing tastings.

Who's cooking? Just April Bloomfield, Marco Canora, David Chang, Kerry Heffernan, Anita Lo, Rick Moonen, Dave Pasternack and Bill Telepan!

Paul Greenberg, author of Four Fish: The Future of the Last Wild Food and the forthcoming American Catch: The Fight for Our Local Seafood, will give a talk.

It's $125, with proceeds going to NY/NJ Baykeeper.

The Sustainable Seafood Week project was started by Village Fishmonger to showcase chefs, fishermen and organizations promoting 'responsible sourcing of seafood'.

Other events for the week include a seafood supper club at Luke's Lobster, another supper club with Eataly's fishmonger, a special dinner at Louro and a cruise. Take part in any of them and you're pretty well guaranteed of two things: you'll learn a lot and you'll eat well.

Jason Polan started Every Person in New York in March of 2008. He plans on working on the project until it is finished. Look for Every Person in New York on Tuesdays in MUG and daily at Jason's site.
