A successful career as a television producer might be your capstone. But not if you're Barbara Fight.

After long stints at Live with Regis & Kathie Lee and Martha Stewart, Barbara decided to return to her first love: teaching. Before her TV days, she spent more than a decade teaching elementary and middle school Language Arts in Georgetown, Washington, DC and directed the After School Enrichment Program. She also tutored during the school year and every summer.

Barbara has a great way with kids and it's easy to see why they respond to her—she's high energy and a lot of fun. She's also driven to make sure kids have the skills they need to excel in school. She tutors ELA prep, composition, grammar, vocabulary, how to write essays and reports, homework help, organizing and study skills.

She has a few openings for students in grades 3-8. The tutoring can be done in your home or hers, $125 an hour (with discounts for multiple sessions), Upper West and Upper East only if she's doing a house call. For more info, email her here.

Everyone knows New York is crazily competitive when it comes to education. Barbara can give a student an edge. But the best reason to have her tutor your child is she'll help them see that learning can be a joy. That's a lifelong gift.
