It brings its original assets of a wonderful score by Stephen Schwartz and Bob Fosse choreography (with a current assist by Chet Walker). This one's directed by Diane Paulus, has a bonus troupe of circus performers from Montreal's les 7 doigts de la main, Matthew James Thomas and Patina Miller as Pippin and the Leading Player respectively, and the glorious Andrea Martin (pictured at top with Thomas), whose performance delivers unalloyed delight. Originally opened in 1972, Pippin ran for almost five years. This one's got long run written all over it, too. [Photos: Michael J. Lutch and Kevin H. Lin]
