art Méré Humd(r)um a group show of contemporary art from Pakistan, is a title with resonance in the works of these artists. Translated loosely as a term of endearment for a mentor, it also conveys the longing for the pleasure of a peaceful daily life—something in short supply in Pakistan's chaotic existence. Turbulence, however, has a way of charging and deepening the work of artists in its midst. See for yourself when the show opens tonight, 6pm, at Aicon Gallery, 35 Great Jones [Bowery/Laf] 212.725.6092.
