art… Here's an interesting site-specific, multimedia art installation comprising performance, film, photography, sculpture, and architecture. It's called HomeBase Project and takes place through May 18th on Sundays, 1-9pm, in an historic Sugar Hill townhouse. The project looks at various ideas of home. Details.

movies… Opening tomorrow, the British comedy Son of Rambow about a boy who grows up among an isolated religious sect. One day, he discovers a copy of Rambo: First Blood and nothing is ever the same.

dance… Emerging dancer/choreographer Deborah Lohse and her ad hoc Ballet company perform along with the Kate Weare Company, at Dance New Amsterdam, 290 Bway [Chambers] 212.625.8369, tonight through Sunday, 8pm, $20.

out of town… From Lan Vacations, MUG found this good package: for prices starting at $1429, you get roundtrip airfare to Lima, two hotel nights, roundtrip airfare to Cusco (where you can to travel to Machu Picchu), three hotel nights there, roundtrip airport transfers in Peru, and breakfast daily.

cd… We've been fans of Mark Kozelek for a long time (he fronted Red House Painters) but his new Sun Kil Moon album "April," may be his best yet: deeply introspective yet essentially American, impossibly gorgeous. Listen.

Re: Hot List: My husband and I were very excited to be among the first to go to Benoit, having enjoyed many fine meals at Benoit in Paris.  We especially looked forward to having the chicken a la L'Ami Louis—another old favorite. It was a great disappointment. Not only did the chicken NOT "leap towards immortality"—it should not even have left the kitchen. Quel domage!!
