music… Brit wunderkind Adele gives a free performance at the Apple Store Soho tomorrow night, 7pm. Lots of great cuts on her album 19, Right as Rain (iTunes) may be the most instantly seductive… And catch Jens Lekman, one of MUG's faves, when he DJs tonight at Cake Shop.

movies… Not many movies get a 98% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes or earn encomiums such as "the most amazing film of the year"—some of the achievements of Trouble the Water, a documentary about Katrina. It's now out of first run, but you can see it at Symphony Space, this Sunday and the next, 3:30pm and 5:45pm shows.

dance… Out now on DVD, Bringing Balanchine Back, the story of the NYC Ballet and their performance in St. Petersburg, where George Balanchine launched his career.

wine… Terrific wines, Murray's cheese, Sullivan Street breads, and the grape savvy of Jean-Luc Le Dû is the irresistible lineup of a new wine tasting series at City Winery, 143 Varick [Spring/Vandam] 212.608.0555. Tuesday, November 18th is Terroir ($80), December 2nd is Burgundy, December 9th is Bordeaux, December 16th is Champagne. More info here.

out of town… Here's a deal to Paris, via Travelzoo: for roundtrip airfare and six nights accommodations, $699. The Comfort Hotel Lamarck isn't anything to write home about, but the package should give you some extra cash to do things that are worth a postcard or two. Details at Go Today.

heads up… Two great radio stations, two events to support them: WFMU is holding their first art benefit to raise money for a booster antenna that will improve reception in Manhattan. Art world heavy hitters, including Christian Marclay and Cindy Sherman, are among those represented. The opening for the benefit takes place on Saturday, December 6th, 5pm, at Printed Matter, 195 10th [21st/22nd] 212.925.0325… On Tuesday, December 2nd, the fourth annual WFUV Holiday Cheer for FUV Concert: Dar Williams, The Felice Brothers, and Bruce Hornsby perform at the Society for Ethical Culture.
