movie… The world's greatest movie? Nah. But New York I Love You, a collection of NY-themed short films – how could we resist? Plus, the cast includes a diverse group of actors, among them: Natalie Portman, Orlando Bloom, Julie Christie, Drea de Matteo, Cloris Leachman, Andy Garcia, and Shia LaBoeuf.

art… The great Red Grooms returns, in fine form, with an exhibition at the Marlborough Gallery, 545 W. 25th [10th/11th] 212.463.8634, opening today. The show, called "Dancing," features large sculptures (all over nine feet) depicting various forms of dance. As always with Mr. Grooms, the work is infused with an irrepressible joy.

books… A fab book wallow for bibliophiles: On Sunday, October 25th, 4pm, at The Mysterious Bookshop, 58 Warren [W. Bway/Church] 212.587.1011, the future of bookselling is the subject. First off, Vincent McCaffrey reads from his new book Hound from Small Beer Press. McCaffrey was for many years the owner of the much-loved Avenue Victor Hugo Bookshop, now online only, and his book stars, naturally enough, a bookseller. Joining Mr. McCaffrey is Jessica Stockton Bagnulo, one of the owners of the just-opened Ft. Greene bookstore Greenlight Bookstore, Christine Onorati, owner of Greenpoint's WORD (one of the very best indies in the city), and Henry Zook, co-owner of Cobble Hill's BookCourt. RSVP here, and put HOUND in the subject line.
