music We have no way of knowing for sure, but our hunch is that Laura Nyro would have loved Morrissey's cover of her Wedding Bell Blues (additional vocals by Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong), the first single from his forthcoming album California Son. The album, out May 24, is an homage to pop music from the 60s and 70s, including tracks written by Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Carly Simon, and Roy Orbison. Watch the video for Wedding Bell Blues here and hear his cover of It's Over here. You can see Morrissey live when he plays Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne from May 2-11 and the Forest Hills Stadium on September 7. Tickets for Forest Hills are on sale as of today.

The show, Land Mark, is on now at Yancey Richardson, 525 W. 22nd [10th/11th] 646.230.9610.
