sat 7am-1pm (+ 8/11, 8/18): explore seven miles of car-free manhattan streets during the summer streets festival. running from the brooklyn bridge to central park, the annual festival includes five rest stops filled with activities including a 30'-high zip line (register at foley square before 8pm to secure a timeslot), bouldering, fitness classes, free bike rentals, bike helmet giveaways (until noon at 24th street between park + madison aves), historical walking tours, dance and music performances, and more. free admission.

sat 4-7pm: enjoy great jazz on the great hill: jazzmobile turns central park's great hill into a party for dancing and live music performed by jimmy heath and his 16-piece big band, alyson williams, and winard harper and friends. the great hill at central park (enter at 106th street + central park west), free.

sat + sun 12-8pm: porch life, a 21' x 14' x 22' roving musical house installation by new orleans airlift's music box village, comes to coney with performances from the likes of brooklyn raga massive, meredith graves, deradoorian, and more. w 12th and the boardwalk (coney island), free ($10 suggested donation).
