fri thru 4/2: film forum hosts a 42-film retrospective of married couple fay wray and robert riskin, including king kong, it happened one night, mr. deeds goes to town, and the most dangerous game. fay wray and robert riskin: a hollywood memoir by daughter victoria riskin, will be available for purchase, and ms. riskin will introduce select screenings. film forum (south village), $15 (includes double features).



fri thru 4/21: prismatica, a traveling art installation of 25 seven-foot tall illuminated kaleidoscopes, comes to to three public plazas at 75 wall street, 77 water st and 32 old slip. free.


sat 11am: manhattan's st. patrick's day parade takes place one day earlier this year, with 150,000 marchers making their way up fifth avenue from 44th to 79th streets.



sat thru mon 12pm + 3pm: as part of the exhibition lincoln kirstein's modern, 18 dancers from new york city ballet, accompanied by pianist elaine chelton, will perform excerpts from four balanchine works at the museum of modern art's marron atrium. hosted by nycb corps de ballet member silas farley. moma (midtown west), free with regular museum admission ($25 general, $18 students, $14 students).
