Writing Class Series
Every Person in New York

A master class with lunch.

Writers talk process at Calliope, 84 E. 4th [2nd] 212.260.8484. Each event in the series has a different author, and they're a diverse group, so the focus will change accordingly. But you can expect a conversation about technique, a few writing exercises and a three-course lunch. Participants limited to 15.

On January 29, Joanna Hershon, author of A Dual Inheritance, talks fiction. The subject is spiritual writing on February 4, taught by Rev. Dr. Donna Schaper of Judson Church. Daphne Merkin (author and NY Times contributor) looks at the challenge of memoirs on February 12. Playwriting is up next with David Adjmi on February 27 and Lisa Kron on March 6. Ryan Miller, Guster frontman, will discusses songwriting (date not set).

It's $100 per class (plus drinks, tax and tip) and you can enroll by session (you don't have to sign up for the whole series). Email for reservations or more info.

Jason Polan started Every Person in New York in March of 2008. He plans on working on the project until it is finished. Look for Every Person in New York on Tuesdays in MUG and daily at Jason's site.
